It’s Always Sunny In Oklahoma City

“What do I wear to a Soft Opening?” Chelsea asked as I threw on the same t-shirt and jeans I wear every Sunday. Seeing our city grow is what we love best; when it involves breakfast food, that’s even better.

We had high hopes for Sunnyside diner, because OKC’s diner scene and NW 6th Street both need some attention. Luckily, Camille and Shannon Roper, with the help of Aly Branstetter, have been wanting to love on both for a while.

“It’s been incredible, six years in the making. This has been a dream of Shannon and Camille’s and everything we’ve envisioned is happening” said Aly.

We sat with the menus, pouring over all of the well-curated breakfast/brunch options while Camille, Shannon, and Aly made their way through the space welcoming friends and family to their elegantly simple take on a classic diner. Everyone at Sunnyside was positive, warm, and made the warm space even more inviting.

As comfy and cozy as Sunnyside Diner is, the food is the real star. Led by the same team that brought Hillbilly’s into culinary prominence, Sunnyside features classics like eggs Benedict, omelets, pancakes, and biscuits ’n gravy. Add some adult beverages like Prosecco Mimosas, Spiked Coffee, and Bloody Mary’s and your weekend is off to a good start. You don’t have to wait long to try Sunnyside, it opens tomorrow, Monday, June 13th at 6 am.
