Weekend Warrior: Bustling City Edition

Get your Valentine’s Day out of the way, we need to talk schedule (and go vote today in the school board election). There’s so much happening this week that you’ll likely have to make some painful choices. Here’s what’s on our radar this week:

Wednesday, February 15th: Let’s Fix This Capitol Day and Capitol Crawl
Join “regular folks” to meet your legislators about issues that matter to you instead of just firing off angry tweets. Then later that night, meet with different legislators for a drink along Uptown 23rd. For a schedule of when, where and who, go to their Facebook event page.

Thursday, February 16th: Tower Theatre Sneak Peek for Friends of Uptown
Be one of the first people to see the newly renovated Tower Theatre and then grab a drink at Savings and Loan afterwards. To join the Friends of Uptown, go here

Friday, February 17th: An Evening of Art and Performance, OKCMOA
Join OKCMOA for a full evening of art including the 2017 Oscar Nominated Short Film Program, poetry, dance and printmaking demonstrations. There’s also a Japanese woodblock exhibit that opens.

Jabee opens the Tower Theatre on Saturday, February 18th.

Jabee opens the Tower Theatre on Saturday, February 18th.

Saturday, February 18th: Jabee at Tower Theatre and 612 Mardi Gras Ball
Hyrdate, nap and get your tickets in advance! The third annual 612 Mardi Gras Ball promises to be another amazing event and if you’ve been before then you know. Jabee also opens the Tower Theatre that night making this one of those brutal evenings where you might have to choose between two great events. Our advice? Get tickets for both today because they’re selling fast. Then, the day of, have Lyft drop you off at Pump Bar at 4 p.m., then walk to 612 later and then Lyft to Tower and enjoy yourself! The Addy’s are also this night so if you drive for Uber and Lyft, get ready for surge pricing.

Sunday, February 19th: Capitol City Record Club
Sunday nights are great for beer and vinyl, why not join other folks with the same disposition and make it a thing? Chris Castro will choose three records for the group. For more details, go here

If you’re out and about this week, watch for us at Let’s Fix This, Friends of Uptown and the Jabee show.
